ABAIR Léitheoir Gréasáin (“the extension”) is a browser extension that reads web page content aloud using the ABAIR text-to-speech service. This policy describes the data the extension handles.
Data processed
Selected text. When you activate the extension, the text you have selected, or the main article text of the current page, is sent to the ABAIR speech synthesis service at synthesis.abair.ie to generate audio. The URL of the page is not sent. The audio returned is played in your browser and is not retained by the extension.
Voice metadata. The extension contacts api.abair.ie to retrieve the list of available Irish voices and dialects. No personal information is included in this request.
Preferences. The extension uses your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.sync) to remember your settings: voice, dialect, playback speed, panel position, accessibility options, and keyboard shortcuts. These settings remain in your browser. Chrome may synchronise them across your own signed-in installations; the extension does not operate its own server.
The extension does not collect personally identifiable information, does not track browsing, and does not use analytics, telemetry, or advertising.
